Survey Structure: What Do the Tool Kit Surveys Measure?

The Tool Kit surveys provide Club leaders with information about the behavior, activities and attitudes of the youth they serve. Each of the three surveys (elementary, middle and high school) is divided into clusters of questions. These clusters or sections each measure a valued Boys & Girls Club outcome for youth.

When a young person answers all the questions on the online survey, the Tool Kit automatically scores his or her survey and gives an outcome indicator score for each section. Each outcome indicator score summarizes the results for seven to 12 survey questions. Depending on the survey grade level, there are nine to 11 outcome indicators in all. The chart below shows the number of survey questions that ask about each outcome indicator.
