What’s New in the Tool Kit?

The new Tool Kit contains updated survey instruments and is entirely Web-based. The Tool Kit’s enhancements include:

  • No paper or data entry is required. Clubs can administer surveys online, eliminating the need for data entry that comes with paper-based surveys.

  • Scoring is simplified. The Tool Kit’s scoring system is based on field-testing and assessing the reliability of questions and measurement indicators with Boys & Girls Club youth.

  • User-friendly survey results are available with a few key strokes. The Web site will score surveys and produce user-friendly reports in graph and table formats, allowing Clubs to get useful results quickly.

  • User feedback informs the updated survey instruments. The revised surveys incorporate feedback from past users and the results of a field-test with more than 3,000 youth in 12 Club organizations.

  • The surveys are research-based. Current youth development research guided the revision of the survey questions.
